Flora Nutri Base Planting Substrate 5Ltr

Colombo Flora Nutri Base provides a complete planting substrate for aquarium plants. Developed in cooperation with aquarium plant experts, Nutri Base contains all the essential nutrients for healthy plant growth. Nutri Base features an open structure which ensures excellent water circulation and contains added freeze-dried beneficial bacteria which actively help keep the substrate clean.

For best results, add a 2-10cm deep layer of Nutri Base, covered with a layer of gravel with a diameter greater than 2mm or alternatively use Colombo Flora Base Pro.

How To Use Colombo Flora Nutri Base Planting Substrate?

1. Spread a layer of Nutri Base on the bottom of the aquarium, 2-10cm deep.
2. Cover with a layer of gravel with a particle size greater than 2mm.
3. Next add decorative elements to the aquarium.
4. Fill the aquarium 75% with tap water. To avoid the water becoming murky do not allow the water to fall directly on the substrate. Instead, put a plate on top of the substrate and pour the water onto the plate.
5. Now you can plant your plants, pay attention to the depth effect and different leaf shapes when arranging the plants. For best results, place the plants in groups with lower plants at the front and higher plants at the back.
6. Top up the aquarium with tap water making sure to add Colombo Aqua Start to make the tap water safe. Also add Colombo Bacto Start to kickstart the biology in your aquarium.
7. Depending on the vegetation, the nutrients in Nutri Base will remain effective for 6 to 12 months. You can use Colombo NutriCaps to provide new nutrients to the roots of your plants.
